Joe and Gerrie Chambliss
Mr. Joe A. Chambliss and Mrs. Gerrie M. Chambliss
As the first family to make a philanthropic investment in the newly established Coastal Alabama Community College Foundation, Mr. Joe Chambliss and Mrs. Gerrie Chambliss established a legacy of generosity that continues to transform student lives. Their partnership with Coastal Alabama began after Mr. Chambliss visited the Fairhope Campus with his granddaughter and was inspired by the College's welcoming environment and commitment to student success.
That experience led to the creation of the Chambliss Family Endowed Scholarship with a $300,000 gift in 2024, followed by an additional $200,000 in 2026 to expand scholarship opportunities. In recognition of their extraordinary generosity, scholarship recipients are proudly known as Chambliss Family Scholars, and their continued investment is expected to grow the program to six scholars by Fall 2027.
